What is Destiny of an Emperor?

DOAE is a comic about two anthropomorphic shapes, Bill (the circle) and Triangle (the triangle). They share a house, find themselves lecturing in universities sometimes, and generally tolerate each other. Bill isn't quite as sharp as Triangle, but I guess he has no angles or sides.. so.. that kinda makes sense. It started as a way for me to use the weird one-liners and conversations that I thought up while working in a lousy customer service job.

Why 'Destiny of an Emperor? It has nothing to do with Emperors.

Destiny of an Emperor is named after a fairly unknown Nintendo (NES) game from 1990, originally titled "The Devouring of Heaven and Earth" in Japanese. It was a favourite of my brother and I, and I had always wanted to use the name for something. I registered the name when I was doing a short-lived comic called 'Buddha Call', and eventually used it as the name for my 'shapes' comic. Woo!

Who draws/writes it?

I do, though, I wouldn't call what I do drawing.. it's not that impressive. I'm a guy who lives, studies and works in Southern-Ontario, Canada. The comics are written by me, though, occassionally are derived from conversations I have with friends, like this one.

Anything else we should know that isn't boring?

The single-panel comics are the exact size of the default template in Macromedia Flash MX, the program I started drawing it in. The reoccuring 'grid' background matches the grid on that program. I kinda liked the shapes/drafting/grid theme, and went with it. Since, I've made the grid lighter and lighter (or not used it at all) as it usually interfers in more complicated frames a bit. Maybe that is boring.
