Recently, someone suggested I make an ‘MPG list’, or My Personal Goals list. Basically, it’s a triangle, where you fill in your goals 1 week from now, 1 month, 3 months, 1 year, and 5 years from now. I thought it sounded like a good idea, so I gave it a try:
Part way through, I realized that I have no idea where I’ll be 5 years from now. It got me thinking about the rest of my life, and I might have taken my MPG list a bit far:
Maybe we should just drop everything we’re doing and become fishermen, or start a commune, or join a monastery, or something. Ooh! Or everyone on the planet could collectively work on contacting life on other planets. That seems like a better use of time than what I’m usually doing.
